Area.
Buck
Lake Campground
is located at the north end of Buck
Lake
130km
southwest of Edmonton.
There are 27 campsites with picnic
tables and fire pits. Most of the
sites are located next to a large
open grassy area with very little
privacy. Some of the sites are
located on or near the Lake and
close enough to keep your boat next
to. This campground has water,
toilets, refuse containers,
fire wood, good boat
launch and a small beach. Buck Lake
is
excellent for power boating, water
skiing, canoeing, kayaking, wind
surfing and both summer and winter
ice fishing. The lake is
approximately
9.3km
long with a maximum width of
6.3km.
Maximum depth is
12.2m
. Buck Lake holds Walleye, northern
Pike, Yellow Perch and Lake
Whitefish. You'll need a
fishing
license to try out your
luck. Night skies here
rank # 4 on the
Bortle Scale.
Access to the campground is
6km
over a gravel road and is not well
marked.
Calhoun Bay
Campground is also
located on Buck Lake approximately
18km
form here.
