Indian Graves Campground Alberta Kananaskis Country Provincial Recreational Area.
The
Indian Graves campground is
located
112km
south of Calgary on a gravel road
11km
west of Highway 22 and is
21km
northwest of the
Chain Lakes
Campground. This
campground offers 38 campsites for
both tents and larger RV's, dry
toilets, water pumps, garbage bins,
communal camp kitchen, playground, picnic tables and fire pits. Dry
firewood is available here for sale. The campground
also has a group camp and
equestrian facilities. Nearby Willow
Creek and Johnson Creek run crystal clear
and the home of wild
Cutthroat
Trout. You'll need a
fishing
license to try your luck,
check your fishing regulations for catch and
release. There are a few unmarked
trails in the area for hiking. This
campground is better suited for
equestrian activities and is also
used by off road enthusiasts.
Several dirt bikes and quads will be
buzzing around. Night skies here are ink black
(#2 on the
Bortle Scale).
This is
bear country,
food and food related items must be
stored properly.
