Jonas Creek Campground Jasper National Park.
Jonas Creek
is located in the Rocky
Mountains on
the Icefields Parkway
78km
south of the Jasper townsite. The
campground is situated on the east
side of the highway along Jonas
Creek. There are 25
unserviced sites with picnic tables
and fire pits ( fire wood is
available when purchasing a fire
permit),
potable water, dry toilets, sheltered
camp kitchen with a wood burning
cook stove, garbage bins and bear
proof food
lockers.
This is Bear
country, food and food related items
must be stored properly.
Jonas Creek Campground may rank as
the worst campground in Jasper
National Park. It is very small, located
close to the highway, not much to do
or see and most of the
campsites are not level. The tents
only section is a little better.
This campground is best suited for
those who are touring on a Bicycle.
See the official web site
link below for fees, opening and closing
dates.
