Pembina River Campground Alberta Provincial
Park.
The
Pembina River campground is located approximately
89km west of the City of
Edmonton. There are
a total of 132 sites with reservations
available by calling 1-877-537-2757. This
campground offers campsites for both
tents and larger RV's, group
camping, handicap spots, canoeing &
kayaking, hiking, play grounds, picnic shelters, showers, water,
power,
fire wood, picnic tables,
amphitheater, sani dump and
fish cleaning stations.
Pembina River
offers good bird watching and
fishing for
Whitefish
and
Pike, you'll need a
fishing
license to try your luck.
The camp sites are well treed
located in both open and private
settings.
Pembina River Campground can fill
fast on weekends due to it's
close proximity to
Edmonton.
The Towering Pembina River Gorge is
located near here. Cliffs as high as
62m
can be found in the gorge. You can
hike the Riverside Trail that passes
the mouth of the
Lobstick River
and offers excellent views of the
gorge. The Pembina River is also
great for white water rafting,
several local touring companies use
this stretch of river for their
rafting tours. The name 'Pembina' is
a French Canadian term for 'High
Bush Cranberry'.

Wabamun Lake
Campground is located
approximately
25km
east of here.
This is
bear country,
food and food related items must be
stored properly.
