Wildhorse Lake and Kinkey Lake Campground
Alberta Provincial Recreation Area.
Wildhorse Lake campground is located approximately
24km
west of the Town of
Hinton
and
75km
east of the Town of Jasper.
Access to the campground is
4km
of gravel road. There are 23 campsites
here for both
tents and larger RV's. Tenter's will
find very secluded walk-in sites. The
campground offers, water, firewood,
picnic tables, dry toilets, beach, fish
cleaning station, good boat launch
electric motors only, fishing, ice fishing, canoeing &
kayaking, mountain biking and hiking. Wildhorse Lake
and Kinky Lake
have good Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout
and Brown Trout fishing, you'll need a
fishing
license to try your luck.
These lakes also
attracts a large variety of
migrating waterfowl and a great place
for birders. There are several small
lakes
located in this area all of which
are excellent for canoeing and
kayaking. The lakes are restricted
to electric motors only. Although
the lake has a nice beach it is to
cold for swimming. Hikers and
Mountain Bikers will find nice
trails around Wildhorse Lake and
Kinkey Lake. Jasper National Park is
located
10km
west on the Yellowhead highway.
