Castle Mountain Campground Banff National
Park.
This campground is located on the Bow
Valley Parkway,
34km north of Banff
and
28km south of Lake Louise in
Banff National Park near the base of
Castle Mountain. Quick access to the
parkway can be found at Castle
Mountain Junction on the Trans
Canada Highway. This campground is
better suited for tents and small
RV's, maximum RV length allowed here
is 7.3 meters (24 feet). The total
number of campsites is 43, all
located in a grassy, wooded area with
a creek running through the center.
There is one men's and women's
washroom with hot and cold running
water, but no showers. Fire pits are
located in each spot, fire wood is
available with the purchase of a fire
permit. This campground also offers
a communal camp kitchen shelter with
a wood burning cook stove. A small store, gas bar and
restaurant are located nearby at the
Castle Mountain junction. Castle
Mountain campground spots are
available on a first come first
serve basis only. National Park
campgrounds tend to fill quickly and
are usually full for the night by
early afternoon.

Rockbound Lake,
Silverton
Falls,
Taylor Lake,
O'Brien Lake
and
Boom Lake
are also located near
here.
This is
bear country,
food and food related items must be
stored properly.
