Gregg Lake Campground

Location: William A. Switzer Provincial Park approximately 33kms north of Hinton Alberta.

Description: Greg Lakeside campground contains 163 campsites suited for both tents and RV’s. Several sites are surrounded by mature aspen and spruce trees providing some privacy. Amenities include group camping, handicap spots, gift shop, clean small sandy beach, canoeing & kayaking, play grounds, picnic shelters, public phone, showers, water, power, fire wood available for sale, picnic tables, amphitheater, sani dump, swimming areas, boat launch, power boating, sailing, wind surfing, fish cleaning stations, ice fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, wildlife watching, guided tours, cross country skiing, tobogganing and snowmobiling off site.

Greg Lake has good northern pike fishing. There is also a stocked trout pond very close to here, You’ll need a fishing license to try your luck. William A. Switzer Provincial Park has it all with lots to do here for both adults and children. Hikers and mountain bikers will find more than 9 well groomed single track trails throughout the park.

The Athabasca Lookout Nordic Centre is located near here and maintains world class cross country skiing and mountain bike trails. In 1994 the World Cup Biathlon Race was held at this venue. William Switzer Provincial Park is a canoers and kayakers dream. Several of the lakes are connected by crystal clear streams that can be accessed with small watercraft.

William A. Switzer Provincial Park also attracts a large variety of wildlife and migrating waterfowl. It is a great place for birders and wildlife watchers.

Night skies here rank #4-5 on the Bortle Scale. This is bear country, food and food related items must be stored properly.
