Location/Description
Location: North of the #1 Trans Canada Highway 27kms east of Canmore, 59kms west of Calgary. Bow Valley Provincial Park Kananaskis country.
Description: Bow Valley Campground contains 169 well treed campsites, 37 with power and water well suited for both tents and RV’s. The bow valley along the bank of the bow river offers nice views of the Rocky Mountains.
This location is right at the transition of foothills to mountains. Amenities include amphitheater, playground, interpretive trails, water, laundry, flush toilets, showers, telephone, small store, sani dump, boat launch, picnic tables and fire pits.
Fire wood is available when purchasing a fire permit. Compared to the other campgrounds in Bow Valley Provincial Park this campground is located the furthest from the Trans Canada Highway and feels more secluded. Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Whitefish can be caught in the nearby Bow River. You’ll need a fishing license to try your luck. Night skies here rank #4 on the Bortle Scale. This is bear country, food and food related items must be stored properly.
