Location/Description
Location: South side of the Red Rock Parkway 13kms northwest of Waterton. Waterton National Park.
Description: Crandell Campground contains 129 campsites for both RV’s and tents. Sites are to small for RV’s over 10ms. Amenities include, tipi camping, water, flush toilets, kitchen shelters, interpretive programs, food storage, recycle bins, sani dump, picnic tables and fire pits. Fire wood is available when purchasing a fire permit. The winds in Waterton National Park can blow the eggs of your plate, no joke.
Several large electricity generating wind farms are located just outside the park. Record winds have reached 150kms and 100km winds are not uncommon. Double stake your tent and don’t leave awnings up if you’re away from your site. Red Rock Parkway located in the Blackiston Valley passes through a relatively rare Montane forest that sustains a healthy wildlife population. Its’ not unusual to see a Grizzly wonder through the campsite. During the summer months wildflowers are blooming all over the nearby grasslands. Hikers will love all the trails located in the park.
The town of Waterton is located 20 minutes away and has several restaurants, limited groceries, lodging and gasoline however no diesel fuel. National Park campgrounds tend to fill quickly and are usually full for the night by early afternoon. Night skies here rank #1-2 on the Bortle Scale. This is bear country, food and food related items must be stored properly.

Location is great however the Kenow forest fire wiped out all the trees.
