Location/Description
Location: 60kms east of Banff National Park on the #11 David Thompson highway. 140kms west of Rocky Mountain House Alberta. Note, 6.5kms gravel road access.
Description: Crescent Falls campground has a remote feel to it and better suited for tents due to the gravel road access. Every spring the road located right at the campground tends to wash out. Check the official campground web site before heading out. There are 29 well treed campsites with picnic tables and fire pits. 6 of these sites are walk-in tent sites located next to the Big Horn River. Amenities include water pump, dry toilets, fire wood, equestrian area, corrals, loading ramp, and community kitchen. There is also a very nice day use area plus an equestrian campground with all the necessary amenities for horses. The campground is located very close to the Crescent Falls view point with a few nice hiking trails that run along the top of the Big Horn Valley.
Spectacular views of the double tiered Crescent Falls and Big Horn Canyon can be found here. Interesting to note that there have been several Sasquatch sightings in this area. Night skies here rank #1 on the Bortle Scale. This is bear country, food and food related items must be stored properly.

Really feels secluded here. The falls can be busy but far enough away not to be bothered.
