Location/Description
Location: 38kms west of Innisfail, 62kms southwest of Red Deer Alberta. Dickson Dam.
Description: Gleniffer Reservoir Dickson Dam campground contains 30 campsites mostly located on well kept open grass with a few sites next to the reservoir. Amenities include water pump, dry toilets, fire wood available for sale, fire pits, fish cleaning station and a boat launch.
Gleniffer reservoir is excellent for power boating, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and especially wind surfing. The reservoir was created for hydroelectric power and approximately 7kms long with a maximum width of 2kms. Dickson Dam is located on the east end of the lake. The reservoir offers good fishing for northern Pike, Walleye, Whitefish and the odd Brown Trout. Fishing below the dam on the Red Deer River can also be good. You’ll need a fishing license to try your luck. The grassy area next to the Lake is excellent for astronomers and star gazers.
