Location/Description
Location: #11 David Thompson highway. 101kms west of Rocky Mountain House Alberta. Note 1.5km gravel road access.
Description: Goldeye Lake campground contains 44 campsites mostly surrounded by aspen and spruce tress that provide good privacy. Sites located along the loop near the lake are un-level with only a few level enough for an RV.
The second loop away from the lake contains level sites best suited for RV’s and tents. Amenities include water, dry toilets, information kiosk, pay telephone, boat launch, boat dock, refuse containers, fish cleaning stations and fire wood available for sale. Gold Eye Lake is excellent for fishing, canoeing, kayaking and swimming.
Goldeye lake is 750ms long with a maximum width of 500ms and crystal clear stocked yearly with Rainbow Trout. You’ll need a fishing license to try your luck. A nice after dinner or evening walk can be found along the lakeshore allow 45 minutes to complete the loop. The trail also looked good for mountain bikes.
