Location/Description
Location: 196kms south of Calgary. 20kms south of Lomond on road #845 northeast shore of Little Bow Reservoir. Southern Alberta.
Description: Don’t confuse this campground with Little Bow located 30kms east of here. Little Bow Reservoir campground contains 25 campsites for both RV’s and tents. The sites are located in somewhat of a prairie oasis next to the reservoir and not marked.
Amenities include water, dry toilets, fire wood, fire pits, picnic tables and a small water craft boat launch. Firewood is available here for sale. The reservoir offers good Pike fishing. You’ll need a fishing license to try your luck. Bird watchers won’t be disappointed. Little Bow Reservoir is situated within an important bird sanctuary and attracts numerous species of migration birds.
There is about 1.5kms of gravel road before reaching the campground. Travers Dam recreational area is located about 8kms west. This short drive offers some excellent views of the Alberta prairies that you will never forget.
