Medicine Lake Campground

Location: South shore of Medicine Lake 47kms north of Rocky Mountain House Alberta. Note 13kms gravel road access.

Description: Medicine Lake campground contains 49 campsites nicely suited for both RV’s and tents. Amenities include water, fire pits, dry toilets, picnic tables, refuse containers, boat launch, fish cleaning station, community kitchen and firewood available for sale. Most of the campsites are surrounded by aspen and spruce tress that provide good privacy with a few choice sites located next to the lake close enough to keep your boat tied up.

The lake is excellent for fly fishing, canoeing, float tubes and kayaking. It’s 4kms long with a maximum width of 500ms and holds healthy fish populations consisting of northern pike, yellow perch and white sucker. You’ll need a fishing license to try your luck.

Medicine Lake has a boat motor speed restriction of 12kmph and is better suited for smaller water craft. The lake is also home to several Loons that can be heard throughout the day and evening. There are also a few off road trails nearby for those with mountain bikes.
