Description: Wabamun Lake campground has a total of 123 campsites nicely suited for both RV’s and tents. Firewood is available for sale.
Golf course, shopping center and farmers market are also located nearby. Wabamun Lake has good Whitefish and Pike fishing. The campground is great for families with young children Kids can spend hours at Moonlight Bay beach and nearby playgrounds. Boaters will find a well designed easy to use boat launch with a long dock for mooring.
Campsites are located in the surrounding Boreal Forest and well treed along with larger open RV sites. Wabamun Lake campground is well maintained but often very crowded due to it’s close proximity to Edmonton. It fills fast on weekends and likely all reserved before the start of the summer season. The lake is 19kms long, 6.6kms wide with a maximum depth of 11ms and one of the most heavily used in Alberta. In the summer months expect to share the lake with lots of power boats.
The campsites are located further from the lake providing less boat noise. Wabamun Lake also attracts a large variety of migrating and breeding waterfowl. The lake does not ice over in the winter due to heat created by nearby power plants. Night skies here are ink black and rank #6 on the Bortle Scale.
