Location/Description
Location: Located 24kms west of Hinton. 75kms east of Jasper Alberta. Note 4km gravel road access.
Description: Wildhorse lake campground contains 23 campsites nicely suited for tents and larger RV’s. Tenters will find secluded walk-in sites. Amenities include water, firewood available for sale, picnic tables, dry toilets, beach, fish cleaning station, good boat launch electric motors only, fishing, ice fishing, canoeing & kayaking, mountain biking and hiking.
Wildhorse lake and Kinky Lake offer good Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout and Brown Trout fishing, you’ll need a fishing license to try your luck. The lakes also attracts a large variety of migrating waterfowl making it a great place for bird watchers.
There are several small lakes located in this area all of which are excellent for canoeing and kayaking. The lakes are restricted to electric motors only. Although Wildhorse lake has a nice beach it is to cold for swimming. Hikers and Mountain Bikers will find nice trails throughout the area. Jasper National Park is located 10kms west on the Yellowhead highway.
