Location/Description
Location: North side of the #1 Trans Canada Highway 29kms east of Canmore. 59kms west of Calgary. Bow Valley Provincial Park Kananaskis country Alberta.
Description: Willow Rock Campground contains 124 open campsites, 34 of those with power. Located right next to the Trans Canada highway you can expect lots of road noise. It fills fast on weekends due to it’s close proximity to Canmore and the City of Calgary.
The campground is best suited for one night stays while passing through the area however there are a few nice sites located close to the Kananaskis River. Amenities include, playground, water, showers, flush toilets, picnic tables, camp kitchen and fire pits. Fire wood is available when purchasing a fire permit.
A few easy hikes that can be accessed from the campground. Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Whitefish can be caught in the Bow River.
Night skies here are ink black and rank #5 on the Bortle Scale. This is bear country, food and food related items must be stored properly.

Lots of highway noise. Located close to Canmore and Banff. Good stop over campground.
